WatchDog

How to use
WatchDog.

Five steps, and your Mac can stay on the table while you get your coffee.

The whole install in 37 seconds. Silent, so it works in a meeting.

  1. Download, drag, open.

Open the downloaded file, drag WatchDog into your Applications folder, then start it from there. Apple has checked and notarized it, so your Mac will not complain.

Works on macOS 13 or newer. The first month is free, you only pay if you stay.

  2. Arm it before you step away.

One tap and the dog is on duty.

It runs on your Mac itself, so the café Wi-Fi can be as bad as it wants.

  3. Go do your thing.

Get your coffee, take the call, go to the bathroom. WatchDog keeps an eye on the table, you don't have to.

It never looks inside your Mac. Not your files, not your mail. It only notices movement.

  4. Someone grabs it. It barks.

The moment your Mac moves, the whole café hears it and your iPhone buzzes. The screen locks, the Mac cannot be shut down the normal way, and the thief has a very public problem.

The alarm works without any internet. Only the ping to your iPhone needs a connection.

  5. Come back and disarm.

You sit back down, WatchDog stands down. With WatchDog Key on your iPhone you can arm and disarm from your pocket, and it knows when you are close.

Arming, disarming and the nearby check run over Bluetooth, even without internet.

That is the
whole job.

Arm it, walk away, come back. The dog handles the middle part.
